To jump start the holiday celebration, BKC launched
its First Annual Door Decorating Competition. Spearheaded by Laura Kuehler,
the event generated much excitement among the partners and staff to the
extent that some spent sleepless nights thinking of concepts and designs
that are unique but expressive enough to win. Some did not make up their
minds until the very last minute (which explains why Mark and Sharon put
up their decorations at the 11th hour). Others even analyzed the tendencies,
inclinations, and backgrounds of would-be judges and adapted their presentations
accordingly. From all of these emerged artistic pieces like "The
Green Foil" (Rafael taking a cue from the Movado museum watch concept),
"The Tax Door"
(Pancho's), "The Singing
Christmas Tree" (Ashley's), "I
Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" (Mike's), "Kiddie
Christmas" (Michel's), "Santa
Came To Town" (Mark's) and "The
Tree" (Sharon's) just to name a few.
Aside from bagging a prize, the winner will be forever known as the first BKC door decorating competition champion. Balloting begins on December 9 and ends on December 10. The winner will be announced at the holiday party on December 11. Here are the entries to the first BKC annual door decorating competition
for Christmas, 2004:
